The Child and Adolescent Learners and Learning Principles

This course focuses on child and adolescent development with emphasis on current research and theory on biological, linguistic, cognitive, social and emotional dimensions of development.

Teaching Internship

This course is a one semester full-time teaching internship in basic education schools using a clinical approach under the mentorship of a cooperating teacher.

The course includes understanding of spiraling basic science concepts and application of science inquiry in Physics and Earth and Space, strategies in teaching elementary science, development of instructional materials and assessment.

Teaching Science in Elementary Grades (Biology and Chemistry)

The course includes understanding of spiraling basic science concepts and application of science inquiry in Chemistry and Biology and the use teaching strategies in elementary science, development of instructional materials and assessment.

Teaching Music in the Elementary Grades

This course shall deals with the educational foundations of Music as it applies to teaching and learning in the elementary grades.

Field Studies 1-3 (Observation of Teaching-Learning in Actual School Environment)

This is the first experiential course, which will immerse a future teacher to actual classroom situation and learning environment where direct observation of teaching learning episodes that focuses on the application of education theories learned in content and pedagogy courses will be made.
