Transportation

The Negros College campus is located on over 700 acres near the city center of Ayungon, Negros Oriental, and about two hours northwest of Dumaguete, the capital city. The campus is easily accessed from the Western Nautical National Highway, which runs in a generally north-south direction along the eastern coastline of the province.

Most students live near the school and choose to walk. But for those who must travel from further away, transportation options include motorcycles/mopeds, tricycles for hire, and buses for longer trips. Some will take you directly to the school while others may have a stop just a few minutes away by foot. There are even some municipalities, or “barangays”, that may offer free rides to students. Check with your local government officials for more details.

Van for Hire and Ceres Bus are the common public transportations that regularly ply from Dumaguete City to the North of Negros Oriental. The travel time is about 2 hours depending on traffic conditions.
If you are from Mindanao, the closest port of destination is the Dumaguete Port. You can then take a bus or V-hire to the Municipality of Ayungon and advise the driver or conductor to drop you at the corner going to Negros College. If you are from Cebu, the closest port is the Tangil Port in Dumanjug, Cebu and take a ferry to Bulado Port in Guihulngan City, Negros Oriental. Then take a bus going to Dumaguete and ask the driver to drop you off in Ayungon.
The ideal way to reach Negros College if you come from Manila is by airplane using the Manila-Dumaguete route. Cebu Pacific and Philippine Airlines are the two carriers that regularly ply the Manila-Dumaguete route. From the Dumaguete airport, you can just walk outside the airport and wait for the buses plying the Guihulngan City, San Carlos City or Bacolod via San Carlos routes. Then ask the driver to drop you off in Ayungon.
