Quantitative research

This course intends to further develop the critical thinking and problem-solving skills of students through quantitative research. Its goal is to equip students with necessary skills and experience to write their own research paper.

Practical Research 2 is quantitative research. The lesson contents are broken down in two parts. The first part discusses the nature, characteristics, different kinds, strengths and weaknesses of quantitative research as compared to the qualitative research. A discussion of the different classifications of variables and its examples, its importance and usage are explained.

The second part presents the techniques in the systematic collection of data using tabular and graphical forms with the aid of SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) software, how to interpret quantitative data and guidelines on how to organize, write, and present a research report to the audience.
