This course is designed to help students develop an informed, critical, and practical understanding of new communication media including analysis of digital media.

In the past years, new media has become a popular and controversial topic. The topics covered in this paper include: “media literacy”, “information literacy”, “online media education”, “growing up with technology”, and “the digital divide”. The paper begins by explaining how some parents are worried for their children who are growing up with technology- the rising generation of young adults, whose lives have been raised on the internet. There is an urgent need for early childhood education to understand what it means to live in a digital society.

Media and information literacy is the process of becoming aware of and understanding what one receives from media, be it print, electronic or other. Here you will find a collection of resources for teachers to go through as well as document sharing activities.
