It examines the factors that lead to entrepreneurial and franchising success and the skills and behaviors necessary to be a successful entrepreneur. This covers design, creativity and entrepreneurship, the characteristics of and types of entrepreneurs and franchising, pathways to entrepreneurship and requirements for success.
Entrepreneurship is an interdisciplinary course designed to teach students how to think and act entrepreneurial taken during the first semester of the Grade 12 students. Students learn how to start-up and operate a business while in school, thus turning their learning into earning. The course will build on cross-curricular academic skills, by integrating inquiry-based learning and business tools that will enable students to analyze, create, develop and pilot small businesses in a safe campus environment. Concepts and skills are reinforced by a strong emphasis on hands-on experiences. Applications to society, individuals, and the utilization of technology are included. This course deals with the concepts, underlying principles, processes and implementation of a business plan.
