Scholarship Sources

Negros College provides qualifying students financial assistance through grants, scholarships, and student work-study programs offered by the government, local organizations, and even the school itself.

Our mission is to bring the most promising scholars to campus — no matter their backgrounds — for an intellectually, socially, and personally transformative educational experience. Our generous financial aid program ensures that Negros College remains within reach for every student.

Requirements

Scholarships are disbursed by the Financial Aid & Scholarships Office and recipients are chosen by a variety of methods and on and off campus entities. Scholarship awards may vary year to year, based on available funding. Many scholarship awards are renewable, but some are awarded as a one-time occurrence as specified by the donor.

Scholarships and grants are sources of free money and do not need to be repaid. They are an excellent source to help defray the costs of your education. Scholarships and grants can be used to pay the following:

  • Assessed tuition and fees
  • Living expenses while attending school, such as rent, utilities, books, school supplies, copying or research expenses, and cost of transportation

Guidance and Advice

The Financial Aid Office is committed to helping new and current students work toward their educational goals by providing information on the funding resources available. But remember that it is vitally important that you apply for financial aid on time if there are deadlines. Your award moneys may not be guaranteed otherwise. You also are generally asked to meet or maintain certain academic progress standards.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. Letters of recommendation are not needed. For scholarship requirements, please check out our Scholarships page.

At Negros College, a student who is a resident of Ayungon automatically qualifies for the grant. NC will file the application with UniFast for you. All that is required of you is proof of your residency.

If your scholarship or grant is larger than your assessed tuition and fees, you will receive a refund. You may use your financial aid refund to help pay your school-related expenses for the school year.

It depends on the type of scholarship that you received. The Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES) grant or the Tulong Dunong Program (TDP) grant is automatically given to a continuing student until he or she graduates. However, the academic scholarship is not guaranteed because the scholarship is based on the GPA of the student for the semester just ended. For clarification, please see our Director for Student Affairs.

It depends on the type of scholarship that you are enjoying. For TES or TDP grantee, you will receive a text message once the funds from the government is deposited to the bank account of NC. For academic scholarship beneficiary, you will be notified by the VP for Academic Affairs after the Registrar shall have finished calculating your GPA for the semester just ended.
