Shielded Metal Arc Welding II

This is a 268-hour TESDA course that will train you in welding carbon steel plate and pipe components as specified by layout, blueprints, diagrams, work order, welding procedure or oral instructions using SMAW equipment. Due to the versatility of the process and the simplicity of its equipment operation, SMAW is one of the world’s first and most popular welding processes. It dominates other welding processes in the maintenance and repair industry Successful trainees of this program will also receive the National Certificate 2 (NC2). Most skilled jobs require this certification for faster processing of job application and is the reason why employers locally and abroad hire welders who are SMAW NC2 holders.

Prerequisites

Candidate or Trainee must possess the following qualifications:

  • Is 18 years old and above
  • Is of good moral character
  • Can communicate in oral and written
  • PSA authenticated birth certificate
  • In lieu of NC1, the applicant can submit a certificate of employment as welder for a minimum of 2 years work experience
