Through the tools and theories of the social sciences, we can better understand and appreciate the interplay of society, politics, and government. The social sciences also prepare us in leading our respective communities and even our nation.

The applied social sciences, including Counselling, Social Work, and Communication, rely heavily on the theories and methods of the social sciences to understand and critically study society and the relationships among individuals, groups, and communities. The applied social sciences also help us face the most pressing social, economic, political, demographic, and environmental problems of our time.
