Statistics and Probability

statistics and probability

This subject includes the study of measures of central tendency and dispersion, finite probability, probability distributions, statistical inferences from large and small samples, linear regression and correlation.

COURSE CODE:
GEN-ED-016
UNITS:
1

This subject is taken by the Grade 11 students during the second semester. Statistics and Probabilities introduces students to the basic concepts and logic of statistical reasoning and gives the students introductory-level practical ability to choose, generate, and properly interpret appropriate descriptive and inferential methods. At the end of the course, the students must know how to find the mean and variance of a random variable, to apply sampling techniques and distributions, to estimate population mean and proportion, to perform hypothesis testing on population mean and proportion, and to perform correlation and regression analyses on real-life problems.
