COURSE CODE:
GEN-ED-004
UNITS:
1

General Mathematics extends students’ mathematical skills in ways that apply to practical problem solving and thus, aims to develop learners’ understanding of concepts and techniques drawn from number and algebra, trigonometry and world geometry, sequences, finance, networks and decision mathematics and statistics, in order to solve applied problems. At the end of the course, the students must know how to solve problems involving rational, exponential and logarithmic functions; to solve business-related problems; and to apply logic to real-life situations.
