NC TES beneficiaries receive financial assistance
Negros College students on Friday, January 11, 2022 received their Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES) in line with the Unified Financial Assistance System for Tertiary Education Act or UniFAST, also known as Republic Act No. 10687.
The Negros College is one of the private higher educational institutions authorized by the CHED to implement the TES grant.
Students enrolled in the different college programs at NC are included in the application to TES by way of uploading their names in the portal of UniFAST. For private Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) like Negros College, the grantees receive a total grant of P30,000 per semester.
For several academic years now, students can continue their studies with their automatic inclusion under the Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES) of the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act (UAQTEA) or RA 10931. This program is aimed to help qualified students and those residing and studying in cities and municipalities without public universities to support their studies.
Jason Pastor, a recipient of the TES grant expresses his gratitude to President Rodrigo Duterte, UNIFAST, and NANC President and COO Dr. Maria Nenita T. Dayagdag for implementing this program which has greatly helped him in achieving higher education. Annirose Mercado another recipient also echoed her happiness for the opportunity to study at NC entirely free.
With the said scholarship grant, deserving students now have access to quality tertiary education in this part of the province.
