Duhac, Elum lead NC’s first ever virtual graduation rites

Marve S. Duhac, a Bachelor of Science in Office Administration graduate and Senior High School graduate Ashely Keirsten Elum led among 354 graduates during the first ever virtual graduation rites of Negros College Inc. via live streaming online last December 5, 2021.

Duhac graduated Cum Laude while Elum was awarded with Highest Honor during the rites. A total of thirty-six (36) Bachelor of Elementary Education graduates, eighteen graduates (18) for the Bachelor of Technical Vocational Teacher Education, sixty-five (65) graduates for the Bachelor of Science in Office Administration, and two hundred thirty-five (235) graduates for the Senior High School Program.

Dr. Linnie S. Viernes, Vice President for Research and Extension and concurrent Director of the Care Center, in her welcome remarks, congratulated this year’s graduates for overcoming the obstacles associated with shifting from face-to-face instructions to home-based online learning. She stressed that the difficulty and poverty experienced by the graduates were inspirations for prosperity in the making.

Dr. Viernes further emphasized the importance of hardships and perseverance and that every successful person has a painful story and a beautiful ending. She  added that this graduation is to honor the graduates’ achievements, and parents and teachers who have helped the graduates in their journey to acquire educational feat.

The graduates were presented by Dr. An-an Mahinay, Dean of the College of Education; Dr. Rebecca Alferez, the Dean of the College of Office Administration; and Mme. Yolanda Elum, the Principal of Senior High School. All graduates were confirmed by Dr. Maria Nenita Tubio Dayagdag, the President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Negros College Inc.
